  • Maximum dimensions 2400mm x 1200mm x 1200mm
  • The item you choose must be able to be flat packed

 

 

DC designs

has choosen to design a stool inspired by the famous Australian dfesigner Marc Newson

Marc Newson (1963-) was born in sydney, Australia. He is a successful industrial designer who works in aircraft design, product design, furniture design, jewellery, and clothing. He incorporates a design style known as biomorphism to his various designs. This style uses smooth flowing lines, translucency, transparency and the absence of sharp edges to create a beautiful and ergonomic design

Apon client conseltation Concept 3 was choosen to further the design processs

Apon evaluation the origional concept was choosen
Dimentions were then drawn up

From those dimentions a scale prototype was constructed out of foam and aluminium

The flatpackability of the product was then decided on
how the product is flat packed is shown in the diagram below

From the provided dimentions and flatpackability, final scale perspective drawing were constructed and CAD solid works and rhino renders were created

Apon evaluation my design, i came to the conclusion that all my constraints and parameters of my design brief were met, resulting in a sucessfull design

The design, if chosen by client will be furthered to a full sized working prototype
